The Narrow Way race offers a unique running experience through the scenic 'Narrows,' a steep-sided valley west of Cumberland, Maryland. The course follows the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) Trail, utilizing a mix of paved sections and crushed stone paths. The event starts and finishes at the charming Canal Place Festival Grounds, a historic hub located at the intersection of the GAP and the C&O Canal Towpath. Beyond the athletic challenge, the race serves a meaningful purpose by raising scholarship funds for local and regional Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) camps. Participants can compete individually or join teams representing schools, workplaces, or churches to vie for annual bragging rights. Whether you are a competitive runner or a casual walker, this event welcomes all ages to experience a path that is both physically demanding and spiritually significant.
