Celebrate a long-standing tradition at the 58th annual Thornton Turkey Trot, the oldest race of its kind in Illinois. Established in 1968, this historic event invites runners to tackle a classic 5K course before heading off to their Thanksgiving festivities. The race features a competitive spirit with a dedicated high school team challenge, requiring just three athletes to score. Beyond the competition, the event supports the Winged Foot Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to providing athletic and academic resources to Chicago-area student athletes. Whether you are racing for a personal best or enjoying the community walk, this event offers a meaningful way to kick off the holiday season. All finishers are rewarded with a medal, and top performers across a wide range of age groups will receive special awards.
