Experience a unique blend of history and athleticism at The Running Fence Run, held in the scenic Sonoma County hills. This event commemorates the 50th anniversary of Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s iconic 1976 art installation, which stretched a 24.5-mile ribbon of fabric across the landscape. Runners can choose from 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, or full marathon distances, traversing the same terrain that once hosted this monumental work of art. The race draws a powerful parallel between the endurance required for long-distance running and the pursuit of freedom. It is a tribute to both the ancient Greek messenger Pheidippides and the artistic spirit of the 1970s. Join fellow runners in this celebration of endurance, courage, and the open California wind.
