The Kilgore Half Marathon & 10k

Thursday, December 24, 2026Oklahoma City, OK10K – Half Marathon

The Kilgore Half, also known as The Run for the Deployed, is a heartfelt tradition born from a soldier's commitment to run a half marathon while deployed on Christmas Eve. What began as a small, personal tribute in 2009 has blossomed into a widespread community event with contingents across the country, from Oklahoma to Washington, Virginia, and Oregon. This grassroots gathering celebrates service members and their sacrifices through the simple, powerful act of running together. There is no formal registration required; participants are simply invited to show up with a food dish, running shoes, and a positive attitude. It is a unique, community-driven experience that emphasizes camaraderie and support over traditional race logistics. Whether you are a local runner or part of a satellite group, this event offers a meaningful way to honor those who serve during the holiday season.
