Saturday, October 31, 2026Oak Harbor, WA5K – 10K

Swing the Gates returns for its fourth year, offering a unique Halloween-themed experience at the stunning Deception Pass State Park. Runners can choose between a classic 5K Fun Run on paved surfaces or a challenging 10K Team Scavenger Hunt that navigates the park's rugged trails. The 5K features a steep initial incline and welcomes strollers, children, and dogs, while the 10K scavenger hunt requires teams to solve clues to uncover the course. This event celebrates community and nature, with costumes highly encouraged for all participants. Please note that the 10K is an unsupported race, so participants should come prepared to carry their own hydration and snacks. Join fellow nature lovers for a memorable day of exploration as the park prepares to close for the season.
