Scrub Jay Races

Saturday, January 23, 2027Oscar Scherer State Park, Osprey, FL5K – 10K

The 27th annual Scrub Jay 5K and Scramble 10K offer two distinct trail experiences within the beautiful Oscar Scherer Park. The 5K is a road-runner-friendly course featuring hard-packed surfaces, though runners should be prepared for occasional tree roots and a challenging 400-meter stretch of sugar sand. For those seeking a more rugged adventure, the Scramble 10K is a technical trail course designed by trail runners, incorporating elevation changes via pedestrian underpasses and overpasses. Both races utilize the Nature Center at Lake Osprey as the central hub for all event activities. Participants are rewarded with a custom finisher's medal and a post-race spread featuring hot dogs and fresh fruit. Please note that due to the technical nature of the trails, dogs and strollers are not permitted on the course.
