The Running Free 4 Miler is a unique community event that bridges the gap between the local community and the residents of the Hiland Mountain Correctional Center. This 4-mile out-and-back course begins at Eagle River High School and takes runners to the correctional facility, where they complete a loop on the security road. A standout feature of this race is the support from the inside program, with participants cheering from the yard and staffing the aid station.
