The RUN Manatee 5K series concludes at the scenic Rye Preserve in Parrish, Florida, offering a unique opportunity to explore the natural beauty of old Florida. Runners will traverse a mixed-terrain course that winds through four distinct ecosystems, including sand pine scrub, xeric oak scrub, oak hammocks, and river communities. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, such as the rare gopher tortoise and the Florida scrub-jay, as you navigate the trails. This community-focused event welcomes participants of all ages and abilities, featuring a pre-race warm-up and a post-race yoga cooldown. Beyond the run, attendees can enjoy a local marketplace and healthy food options, making it a perfect day for the whole family. By participating, you are also supporting the Foundation for Dreams, which operates the Dream Oaks Camp located right within the preserve.
