The Great American Trail Race returns for its 23rd year, offering runners a scenic journey through the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Participants can choose from four distances, including a 50-mile ultra, 60KM, marathon, and 23KM, all starting together along the picturesque shoreline of Kentucky Lake. The course features the Canal Loop, a mostly single-track, packed-dirt trail that winds through rolling hills on the Lake Barkley side and more challenging terrain on the Kentucky Lake side. Runners will enjoy spectacular views of both lakes throughout this highly runnable course. Please note that for insurance reasons, dogs are not permitted on the course during the race, though they are welcome to explore the trails before or after the event.
