For over four decades, the Irish Jig has served as the traditional kickoff to Michigan’s racing season, but the 2026 edition marks a powerful evolution. This year, the event transforms into a dedicated rally against cancer, with proceeds directly supporting research and care at Corewell Health and the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Runners and walkers are invited to join this movement, which now features a new Kids Gold Ribbon Run held on the East Grand Rapids track. For those unable to attend in person, a new virtual participation option allows supporters to contribute from anywhere during the week of March 9. Whether you are racing for a personal best or walking to honor a fighter, this event offers a meaningful way to make a difference. Come fill the streets and help take the Irish Jig WellBeyond its storied history.
