Catch the Elf 5k & 10k

Saturday, December 19, 2026Markham, IL5K – 10K

Get into the holiday spirit with the inaugural Catch the Elf race, a festive event dedicated to supporting the Toy Box Connection Children's Charity. This unique race features a fun challenge where participants attempt to finish before a designated race elf, who receives a one-minute and thirty-second head start. Both the 5K and 10K courses are chip-timed, offering competitive awards for top finishers and age-group winners. Beyond the run, the event features a visit from Santa Claus and an optional Secret Santa gift exchange for runners. Participants are encouraged to bring running-related gifts to swap, adding a community-focused twist to the race day experience. With a long-sleeve shirt included and a dedicated kids' race for those eight and younger, this event is a perfect way to celebrate the season while giving back.
