Yes, packet pickup is available on race morning, April 3rd, 2027, from 6:30 am to 7:30 am at the WCU Campus Recreation Center.

What awards are available for the races?

Both races offer custom medals for overall male and female winners, overall master's winners, and the top three finishers in various age groups.

The Catamount Climb Half Marathon and 5K, formerly known as the Valley of the Lilies, invites runners to the scenic campus of Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. The course winds along the beautiful banks of the Tuckasegee River, offering a unique blend of campus life and local terrain. While the 5K remains entirely on campus with moderate elevation changes, the half marathon ventures off-campus for a portion of the route before returning for a spirited finish. Hosted by the WCU School of Health Sciences and the Department of Campus Recreation & Wellness, this event directly supports student professional development and academic scholarships. Participants can look forward to a race packet including a t-shirt and bib, with finisher medals awarded to all half-marathoners. Whether you are tackling the 5K or the half marathon, you will enjoy a community-focused race experience in the heart of the mountains.
