Big Tex Backyard Ultra

Saturday, November 7, 2026San Felipe, TX5K – 4.17 Miles

The Big Tex Backyard Ultra returns for its fourth year, challenging endurance athletes to a classic 'last runner standing' format. Held at Stephen F. Austin State Park, the course features a 4.17-mile loop on wide, well-maintained crushed gravel trails with minimal elevation change. Runners must complete each yard within the hour to remain in the race, with the event continuing until only one participant remains. This race serves as a Bronze Ticket qualifier for the Big Dog's Backyard Ultra series. Participants can enjoy a supportive atmosphere with designated areas for personal crew setups near the start/finish line. New for 2026, the event introduces a 'Last Rucker Standing' division on a shorter, dedicated course.
