## Frequently asked questions

### What counts as a unique runner?

Any individual who registers for or attends one of your events, deduplicated by email across all your events within your plan year. Someone who runs your spring 10K, summer 5K, and fall half marathon counts as one runner — not three — and if they also join your weekly club, still one. You're never charged twice for the same person. Your runner count resets at the start of each plan year, on your billing anniversary.

### Do I have to process registrations through Intervals?

No. Intervals works alongside RunSignUp, RaceRoster, or any other platform you already use. External registration links are always free — transaction fees only apply when you collect payment directly through Intervals. You can run both side by side.

### What do automations actually do?

Automations are triggered workflows — a confirmation email when someone registers, a reminder three days before race day, a post-race survey after the finish line closes, a re-engagement nudge for runners who haven't signed up for next year. You set the trigger and the message once; Intervals handles the rest.

### What is the API good for?

Static website, transformed. Embed your races, clubs, and club runs — a community page, a location page for every city you operate in. Unlock a running community at each location that doesn't have one. Live content, always current, and local SEO that drives foot traffic to every door.

### What happens if I go over my runner limit mid-event?

Registrations are never blocked. We apply an overage rate automatically — $4.00 per 100 additional runners on Local, $2.50 on Elite. You'll see it on your next invoice. You can also upgrade at any point to lock in a lower overage rate going forward.

### Can I put on a race without a timing company?

Yes. A stopwatch is plenty — enter finish times yourself and Intervals handles the rankings: overall, age group, sex, weight class, club, or charity team. Signups, roster, and check-in work the same as a chip-timed race.

### Is this a replacement for my timing system?

Up to you. Connect your timing hardware and we'll handle the heavy lifting, or push results in by API or CSV. Rankings and results follow either way.

### Is there a free trial?

Local and Elite are billed annually from day one. Free still includes a club and the rest of the organizer toolkit. Gather runners. We'll handle the rest.

### How quickly can we get up and running?

Your first club is live in under an hour. Pick Local or Elite, then build your race, open registration, and start reaching runners. No implementation project, no onboarding call required — though we're here when you want one.

### How does white-labeling work?

Add a CNAME record pointing your subdomain at Intervals — runs.yourbrand.com, for example. We serve your races and clubs there under your branding. Your URL, your logo, your identity. Enterprise only.

### What is the Enterprise plan?

Enterprise is built for organizations running events across multiple locations or brands — think a national run-specialty franchise, a regional park district, or a race federation managing dozens of events. Custom pricing, SLA, dedicated support, and white-labeling included. Contact us.
